MANSON = GREAT, CROWD = PRACTICALLY DEAD.

I saw see Manson last year in Milwaukee, and he was on fire. Great show. A year later I see him at the Orpheum in Madison and the crowd was as lifeless as I've ever seen in a rock concert, especially a show of Marilyn Manson's magnitude. He was obviously frustrated with the dead crowd (he even stupid the band at one point to chastise the audience) and only performed one encore song when he usually performs 3 (judging by his previous shows). Considering an artist feeds off of his audience I can totally understand Manson's irritation. Granted, the crowd was a bit older and it was a theater filled with (somewhat cramped) seats. But that's not much of an excuse considering I'm in my thirties and I had plenty of room to stand & move around and enjoy the concert, and at least signify to Manson that I was enjoying his performance. My fellow Midwesterners embarrassed me to be honest, especially since Manson was putting on such a great show even with his leg in a cast. Do better Madison!

NO ENTHUSIASM / THREW A FIT

Great lighting, makeup, props, sets, and speaker/sound setups. He started she show very well. Pumped uputhe crowd and all. Then he only played his new album... Which makes sense but the old songs are what people truly want to hear He then noticed, while playing new songs, the crowd wasn't "into" him anymore. After every song change he took more and more of a drug--became sluggish, face was drupy and obvious giveaways. And he even quit performing the stage act that has made him famous for over a decade came. He ended the show 20 minutes early. Tickets were very pricey.. Would definitely not risk going to any concert or event where he is the only artist. Love his music but I am never seeing him live on stage again.
