This year, the Madison Symphony Orchestra will gather to perform the epic John William's multi-award-winning, platinum-selling soundtrack live to accompany the movie. Released in 1977, Star Wars tells the story of a group of rebel freedom fighters, who seek to free the galaxy from the oppressive Galactic Empire. The movie launched the careers of actors Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford, with all three receiving stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and multiple other accolades. The initial three movies, A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi were just the beginnings in what became one of the most epic and beloved stories of all time.
